The items on this calendar are mainly American Legion Riders events, but I'm also including other events that may be of interest. At the top is a nifty little visual calendar so you can see at a glance what's coming up, but you may want to scroll down to get the details of a particular event. If the time in the calendar looks wrong, please go by what's listed below.
16 May 08 -- Tulip Festival Parade in Orange City, IA. We'll meet at the Legion in Le Mars at 5:15 p.m. and run up to Orange City. The parade starts at 6:30. Bring your flag.
17 May 08 -- American Heart Association Run, starting at the Icky Nickel in Sioux City.
18 May 08 -- Meeting, 1 p.m. at the Legion in Le Mars. Seamus will be hosting the Blessing of the Bikes after the meeting. Details will follow, but I can guarantee Seamus is putting some thought into this! Should be good.
25 May 08 -- Third Annual Sergeant Dan Sesker Memorial Poker Run, Sign in from 8 to 9 a.m. at the park in Ogden, IA. Cost is $20, food and entertainment at the end of the ride, proceeds go to Gage Sesker's college fund. To pre-register, e-mail THIS GUY.
26 May 08 -- Memorial Day Ceremony in Le Mars, we'll meet at 9 a.m. at the Legion.
30 May 08 & 01 Jun 08 -- Experienced Riders Course in Sioux Falls, SD. The cost is $60. The course is taught by ALR member Cap'n Kirk Kingsley. Call 605-361-7785 or 800-952-5539 to register.
31 May 08 -- Poker Run for Kim Malcom. Registration from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Doc's in Sioux Center. Good cause, good prizes.
07 Jun 08 -- Salute to Veterans at the Sioux City Bandits
football game. We get to ride our bikes on the field at halftime --
cool, eh? We'll meet at the Icky Nickel in Sioux City at 4:30, then
head to the Tyson Events Center. Please e-mail Snowman if you're interested in participating -- he needs a rough count so they can make arrangements for us. (NOTE: Keep your ears open on this event -- it may change.)
07 Jun 08 -- Parade in Sioux Center, IA. We'll meet at the Legion in Le Mars at 3:30 p.m., then head north to meet the "Northern Contingent" at the Hy-Vee in Sioux Center at 4 p.m., then on to the parade. I love a parade.

22 Jun 08 -- Meeting, 1 p.m. at the Legion in Le Mars
04 Jul 08 -- Independence Day Parade, 9 a.m., Le Mars, IA
04 Jul 08 -- Parade at Paullina, 1 p.m. They want us to be up front by the honor guard. Sounds like they're really excited to have us there!
11-13 Jul 08 -- Hot Harley Nights, Sioux Falls, SD
12 Jul 08 -- Healing Run, Legion in Le Mars, sign in from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. This is our very own poker run. Please note, the date is still tentative.
20 Jul 08 -- Meeting, 1 p.m. at the Legion in Le Mars. (We may schedule some sort of picnic or ride for this meeting. It's been done before. People seem to like it.)
23 Jul 08 -- Plymouth County Fair Opening Ceremony, we'll meet at 5 p.m. at the Legion in Le Mars.
17 Aug 08 -- Meeting, 1 p.m. at the Legion in Le Mars.
17-21 Aug 08 -- Legion Legacy Run from Indianapolis to Phoenix.
23 Aug 08 -- Independent Riders for Children and Charities Toy Run, sign-in at 11 a.m., somewhere in Northwest Iowa, we think.
29 Aug - 1 Sep 08 -- 2008 Romp, Marshalltown, IA.
30 Aug - 1 Sep 08 -- Labor Day Weekend Ride and Bash, Soldier, IA.
